Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m ES pendant set is a pre-wired ceiling pendant holder with a smoked bronze finish on premium-grade steel construction. The set includes a 110mm diameter ceiling rose, a 1.8m fabric-braided cable with an E27 lampholder at the end, and a cylindrical metal shade holder that conceals the lampholder fitting. The smoked bronze finish is a mid-tone metallic brown with a subtle patina that sits between raw bronze and blackened metal.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms where a single drop pendant is needed without the cost of a full pendant light fixture, the set lets you choose your own bulb style to control the final look. Pair it with a large decorative filament bulb for an industrial aesthetic, or a smaller LED for cleaner lines. The 1.8m drop works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights when the pendant is shortened during installation, or left at full length in rooms with higher ceilings or over kitchen islands and dining tables.

The ceiling rose is pre-wired with loop-in terminals, so installation requires connecting to existing ceiling wiring and screwing the rose to a standard UK ceiling fixing point. The fabric-braided cable is fixed-length and cannot be extended, but can be shortened by coiling excess cable inside the ceiling rose. The E27 fitting accepts any standard Edison screw bulb up to 60W, with dimming capability dependent on the bulb chosen (the pendant holder itself is dimmable-ready). Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes any standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a large globe filament LED (G95 or G125 size) or a vintage-style squirrel-cage filament bulb for maximum decorative impact.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

The 1.8m cable is fixed-length and cannot be extended. It can be shortened by coiling excess cable inside the ceiling rose during installation. For rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, shortening to around 1.2m-1.4m drop is typical.

Is it dimmable?

The pendant holder itself is dimmable-ready. Actual dimming depends on the bulb you choose — pair with a dimmable LED or halogen bulb and a compatible dimmer switch for full dimming control.

Does it need an earth connection?

No. The pendant is Class II double-insulated, so no earth connection is required during installation. The earth terminal in the ceiling rose is present for continuity if needed but is not mandatory for safe operation.
