Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m ES Contemporary Pendant Set is a pre-wired pendant installation kit with a matt black steel ceiling rose, 1.8m black braided flex and an E27 lampholder. The ceiling rose measures 100mm diameter and the pendant holder itself is 40mm diameter steel finished in matt black, providing a complete bare-bulb suspension system that ships ready to wire into a UK ceiling outlet and accept an E27 bulb.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and commercial spaces where bare-bulb or minimalist pendant lighting suits the aesthetic, the 1.8m drop works well over kitchen islands, dining tables and counter-height surfaces in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-3m. The pendant accepts any E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (bulb sold separately), allowing the installer or end user to select the light output, colour temperature and bulb style that suits the space. The braided flex is adjustable on installation if a shorter drop is required.

The matt black finish on the steel ceiling rose and lampholder gives a low-sheen surface that pairs with industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors without adding gloss or reflective highlights. The pendant is Class II double-insulated and rated IP20 for dry indoor use, certified to BS EN 60598 standards. An earth terminal is included on the ceiling rose for connection to the building earth even though the fitting itself does not require earthing. The 3-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Does this come with a bulb?

No. The pendant set ships with the ceiling rose, flex and lampholder only. You will need to purchase an E27 bulb separately. Most users pair this with an LED filament bulb or vintage-style Edison bulb for exposed-bulb installations.

Can the 1.8m drop be shortened?

Yes. The braided flex can be shortened during installation by looping the excess cable inside the ceiling rose before final fixing. The flex should not be cut as this will expose individual cores and create a safety hazard.

Is this dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you install. The pendant holder itself does not contain any electronics that would prevent dimming. If you install a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the setup will dim.

What is Class II double insulation?

Class II means the pendant has two layers of insulation between live parts and any touchable metal, so it does not rely on earthing for shock protection. The earth terminal on the ceiling rose is provided for connecting the building earth cable, but the pendant itself is safe without it.
