Description

This Knightsbridge ES contemporary pendant set comprises a brushed chrome ceiling rose, 1.8m grey fabric-covered flex, and a 40mm diameter cylindrical brushed chrome lampholder with an E27 fitting. The set is supplied pre-wired and ready to install on a standard UK ceiling rose base, with the lampholder accepting any E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms, home offices and utility spaces where a simple pendant drop is needed without a fixed shade, the 1.8m cable length allows the bulb to hang at dining table height in rooms with 2.4-2.7m ceilings. The cable can be shortened during installation if a shorter drop is needed. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required at the ceiling rose, simplifying fitting where older properties have only live and neutral wiring.

The brushed chrome finish on both the ceiling rose and lampholder provides a consistent metal accent that pairs with both warm and cool-toned interiors. The grey fabric flex conceals the cable run and is flexible enough to route through decorative ceiling hooks or swags if positioning off-centre. The premium-grade steel construction carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry indoor locations, and the set is certified to BS EN 60598 electrical safety standards.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant set takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a large-globe LED filament bulb in 6-8W and 2700K for a warm decorative effect.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb chosen. The pendant set itself is compatible with dimmers, but you must use a dimmable E27 LED or halogen bulb and pair it with an appropriate trailing-edge dimmer.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 1.8m flex can be shortened during installation by looping excess cable above the ceiling rose or by cutting and re-terminating the cable if you have electrical competence. Always isolate mains power before working on the installation.

Does it need an earth connection?

The pendant set is Class II double-insulated, so an earth connection is not required. However, an earth terminal is provided on the ceiling rose if your wiring includes an earth conductor and local regulations require it to be sleeved and terminated.
