Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m E27 pendant set pairs a polished brass ceiling rose with a black braided fabric cable and a matching brass lampholder. The pendant is pre-wired and ready to install, requiring only connection to mains wiring at the ceiling rose and insertion of an E27 bulb (sold separately). The 40mm polished brass ceiling rose conceals the ceiling connection point and the cable runs the full 1.8m drop to a brass E27 socket with knurled detailing.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a single exposed-bulb pendant provides both task and decorative lighting, the 1.8m drop suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The pendant hangs over dining tables, kitchen islands, or beside beds as reading light. The cable length is fixed at 1.8m but can be shortened during installation by looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose if a shorter drop is needed.

The polished brass finish gives a warm metallic accent that pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors. The black braided cable softens the visual contrast between the brass rose and the brass lampholder, while the Class II double-insulated construction removes the need for an earth connection at the lampholder itself (an earth terminal is provided at the ceiling rose). The E27 socket accepts any standard Edison screw bulb up to 60W, including LED filament bulbs, vintage-style carbon filament bulbs, and standard frosted LED bulbs.

What bulb does this pendant take?

The pendant has an E27 (Edison screw) lampholder and accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. LED filament bulbs between 4-8W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature are popular choices for this type of fitting.

Is the cable length adjustable?

The cable is fixed at 1.8m but can be shortened during installation by looping excess cable inside the ceiling rose. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without re-wiring.

Is this pendant dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you fit. If you use a dimmable LED or halogen bulb, the pendant will dim when connected to a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

Does it need an earth connection?

The pendant is Class II double-insulated, meaning the lampholder does not require an earth. However, an earth terminal is provided at the ceiling rose for connection to the mains earth as part of standard UK wiring practice.
