Description

This 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable supports 100W power delivery (20V 5A), 10Gbps data transfer and 4K HD video output through a single connection. The cable uses USB3.1 Gen 2 protocol and includes an eMark chip that negotiates power requirements between connected devices, allowing safe high-wattage charging for laptops, tablets and phones that support USB Power Delivery.

Designed for charging laptops and high-draw devices while maintaining data connectivity, the cable handles simultaneous power, data and video transmission. The 10Gbps transfer rate supports external SSD drives, high-resolution displays up to 4K at 60Hz, and Thunderbolt 3 peripherals. The 1.5m length provides reach from a desk-mounted power supply to a laptop without creating excessive slack.

The cable uses a black and grey nylon-braided outer sheath over a PVC core, providing abrasion resistance at desk edges and bag corners. The connectors are moulded onto the cable rather than crimped, reducing the risk of connection failure at the stress points. USB-C plugs are reversible, eliminating orientation issues when connecting in low light or behind equipment.

What devices can this cable charge at 100W?

The cable supports up to 100W power delivery, but the actual wattage delivered depends on both the power supply and the device. Laptops that support USB-PD at 87W, 96W or 100W (such as MacBook Pro 16-inch models or Dell XPS 15/17) will charge at their maximum rate when paired with a compatible 100W USB-C charger. Phones and tablets that support lower USB-PD wattages (typically 18W-45W) will charge at their device-maximum rate — the eMark chip negotiates the correct voltage and current automatically.

Can it be used for 4K video output?

Yes. The cable supports 4K video at 60Hz when connecting a USB-C laptop or desktop to a 4K monitor with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode input. Both the source device and the display must support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C for video transmission to work.

What's the difference between this and a standard USB-C cable?

Standard USB-C cables typically support 60W maximum and 480Mbps (USB 2.0) data rates. This cable is rated for 100W power delivery and 10Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2) data transfer, making it suitable for charging high-wattage laptops and transferring large files to external SSDs at full speed. The eMark chip inside the cable identifies it to connected devices as a high-power cable.

Is the cable compatible with Thunderbolt 3 devices?

The cable supports Thunderbolt 3 data transfer at 10Gbps and can charge Thunderbolt 3 laptops at up to 100W. However, it does not support the full 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth — for maximum Thunderbolt 3 performance, a certified Thunderbolt 3 cable is required. For charging and standard USB 3.1 data transfer, this cable works with Thunderbolt 3 ports.
