Description
The Knightsbridge GDS001F is a 1-2 gang grid mounting frame that sits behind screwless grid faceplates, providing the structural base onto which modular grid inserts clip. The frame is an 88mm steel square with a 10mm projection from the wall once fitted, and includes an integrated gasket to seal the back box junction against dust ingress.
Designed for residential and commercial installations using Knightsbridge's screwless grid system, the frame accepts one or two standard grid modules (switches, dimmers, sockets, data ports) within a single-gang aperture. The screwless faceplate clips onto the front of the frame once the modules are installed, hiding all fixings and creating a flat finish. The frame includes an earth terminal for bonding to the back box.
The IP20 rating means the frame is suitable for dry indoor environments such as living rooms, bedrooms, offices and corridors, but not for bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor installations where moisture is present. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and material failure under normal indoor use. The steel construction provides rigidity to hold modules securely without flexing when switches are operated.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A standard 25mm back box is recommended. The frame adds 10mm of projection from the wall, so the total depth from back of the box to face of the faceplate will be approximately 35mm.
Can I use this with any Knightsbridge grid modules?
This frame is compatible with Knightsbridge screwless grid modules only. It accepts one or two standard grid modules within the 88mm square aperture. Check that your chosen modules and faceplate are from the screwless grid range.
Is the gasket replaceable?
The gasket is integrated into the frame and is not designed to be replaced separately. If the gasket becomes damaged, the entire frame should be replaced to maintain the IP20 dust-ingress protection.
What's the difference between this and a standard grid frame?
This frame is designed specifically for screwless faceplates, which clip onto the front without visible screws. Standard grid frames use screw-fixed faceplates. The two systems are not interchangeable.
