This is a woven wool rug in brown, 200cm long and 140cm wide, with a tonal pattern of long, angled bands that run across it like ripples in sand. The pattern comes from the weave itself rather than from print: some bands sit a shade lighter, some a shade darker, and fine rows of tiny open gaps trace the lines between them, so here and there the floor shows through in small points. The yarn is 78% wool, 17% cotton and 5% polyester, which puts wool firmly in charge of how it feels. Wool is naturally springy and resilient, with a dry, warm handle.
