Description

The Zoha is a dining chair built on a square-section mango wood frame, with an open back made up of two uprights and a single wide top rail and nothing between that rail and the seat. The seat is upholstered in a cotton and jute kilim weave, pale with narrow vertical stripes running front to back, and it is tacked down along the front edge with the nail heads left showing. The wood is finished rough-sawn, so the saw marks stay visible across the legs and the back.

The chair stands 84cm to the top of the back and 46cm across, 55cm deep, with the seat at 49cm. It has no arms, so it pushes fully under a table and stacks against a wall without catching. It will carry up to 100kg.

The frame is mango wood, cut and assembled by hand and chosen for the grain, and the seat is upholstered by hand in a cotton and jute weave. Every frame takes the rough-sawn finish differently, so the depth of the saw marks and the tone of the wood vary from chair to chair. The Zoha is also made as a counter chair.
