Description

These are four green stoneware bowls, each 13.5cm across and 5cm tall, with a hand-painted pattern of flowing lines that wraps the outside like the grain of a sawn log. Each one holds 390ml, which makes it a low, open bowl for desserts, sides and small portions rather than a deep soup bowl. The sides taper gently towards the base, a thin painted band finishes the rim, and the inside is plain and lighter in tone, so whatever you serve stands out against it.

On the breakfast table they suit berries, yoghurt and sliced fruit; at dinner they take a side of greens, rice or a dressed salad, and they are a good size for olives, nuts and dips when friends come round for drinks. They look just as at home on a coffee table or a small side table with a handful of fruit as they do on a laid dining table.
