Description
The Wamma desk chair is a ribbed leather seat and back carried on a brushed metal frame. The leather is channelled into broad horizontal ribs across both panels, and the back rakes away from the seat in one continuous sweep rather than meeting it at a corner. The frame is square section metal: a closed rectangle lies flat on the floor, two uprights rise from the front of it, and each one turns back at the top into an arm with a leather sleeve where the hand falls. There are no back legs, so the seat is carried forward off the front uprights.
The chair stands 88cm tall and 55cm wide, with a seat 46cm from the floor, 50cm across and 44cm front to back, which makes it a working chair at a desk rather than a low lounge chair. At 56cm deep overall there is only 12cm of chair behind the seat, so it tucks close under a desk, and the arms stand clear of the seat so they can be leaned on while typing. The flat base rests on the floor along its whole length instead of on four points.
The frame is iron and the seat and back are leather. The leather carries a rustic finish, so the tone shifts across each panel, reading darker in the folds between the ribs and lighter where the surface stands proud. The ribbing is stitched through, which is what holds the leather flat across a back that has nothing solid behind it.

Frequently Asked
Does it have arms?
Yes. The metal frame turns back at the top on each side to form an arm, and the top of each arm is wrapped in leather.
How high is the seat?
46cm from the floor, 50cm across and 44cm front to back.
What weight will it take?
80kg.
Does it swivel or adjust?
No. The seat is fixed to the frame and there are no castors, so it does not turn, roll or change height.
How is the leather looked after?
A soft, dry cloth is all it needs day to day. Household cleaners and chemicals damage the finish, so keep them away from it. Feeding the leather now and again with a specialist product, with petroleum jelly or with flax oil will stop it drying out and cracking.
