Description

This 80cm Viking Tree of Life wall clock combines a gold-tone metal tree cutout with exposed moving cogs visible behind glass. The tree design sits as a foreground layer over a black backdrop, with brass-finished gears rotating behind the trunk and root sections as the clock mechanism runs. The clock hands sweep across the tree canopy, and twelve brass studs mark the hour positions around the outer rim.

Designed for living rooms, hallways and home offices where a large statement clock is needed, the 80cm diameter suits walls with 2.5-3m of vertical clearance and at least 1m of horizontal space either side. The glass face protects the metal layers while allowing the cog movement to be seen from across the room. The clock requires standard AA batteries (not included) to power both the timekeeping mechanism and the decorative gear movement.

The metal frame has a bronze-toned outer rim approximately 8cm deep, giving the clock a three-dimensional profile when viewed from the side. The gold tree cutout is laser-cut sheet metal with curled leaf and branch details, and the cogs behind are functional parts of the movement rather than static decoration. The 10.5kg weight requires a wall fixing capable of supporting the load — use appropriate wall plugs and fixings for the wall type.

The Viking Tree of Life (Yggdrasil) motif shows a tree with spreading canopy, visible trunk, and root system extending downwards, with the cogs positioned where the roots meet the earth. This design references the Norse cosmology symbol while functioning as a practical timekeeping piece. Indoor use only — humidity and temperature fluctuation can affect the mechanism accuracy.

Frequently Asked

Do the cogs actually move?

Yes. The brass-finished cogs visible behind the tree are driven by the clock mechanism and rotate continuously while the clock is running. They are functional parts of the movement rather than static decoration.

What batteries does it take?

The clock requires standard AA batteries to power both the timekeeping mechanism and the decorative cog movement. Batteries are not included. Check the rear of the clock housing for the exact battery compartment specification.

What wall fixing is needed for 10.5kg?

The clock requires a wall fixing rated for at least 15kg to provide a safety margin. On masonry or brick use expanding wall plugs with appropriate screws. On plasterboard use cavity fixings or locate a stud. The clock has a keyhole or D-ring hanging point on the rear.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The clock is rated for indoor use only. Humidity, temperature fluctuation and moisture will damage the mechanism and cause the metal components to corrode. Keep away from bathrooms, conservatories and unheated spaces.
