Description
The Vienna is a set of four glass coasters, each printed with a section of antique atlas cartography beneath a hand-applied gold rim. The atlas design shows faded geographical detail in sepia and ochre tones, giving the coasters a vintage map aesthetic. A cork backing protects table surfaces from both heat transfer and moisture condensation from cold drinks.
Designed as both functional drinkware protection and decorative tabletop pieces, the coasters suit dining tables, coffee tables and side tables in traditional, classical and eclectic interiors. The 11cm diameter accommodates standard wine glasses, tumblers and mugs, while the 3cm stacking height allows the set to be stored compactly when not in use. The gold rim adds a metallic accent that pairs with brass candlesticks, gold-framed mirrors and warm-toned metal accessories.
Each coaster is hand-finished, so the atlas print position and the gold rim application vary slightly between the four pieces. The glass top surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, though the cork backing should be kept dry to maintain adhesion. At 0.3kg total for the set, the coasters have enough weight to stay in place under a glass without feeling heavy or cumbersome to move.

Frequently Asked
Can these be used for hot drinks?
Yes. The cork backing provides thermal insulation between the glass coaster and the table surface, protecting against heat from tea, coffee or other hot beverages.
Is the atlas design the same on all four coasters?
The four coasters show different sections of the atlas map, so each displays a different area of vintage cartographic detail. The hand-finished nature of the product also means the exact print position varies slightly between pieces.
How are they cleaned?
Wipe the glass surface with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. Avoid soaking the coasters or submerging them in water, as this can damage the cork backing and compromise the adhesive bond between the cork and glass.
Do they stack for storage?
Yes. The 3cm height allows the four coasters to stack on top of one another without the gold rim edges catching or scratching adjacent pieces.
