Description

The To-Be pendant light is a slim white tube, 45cm long and 5.5cm across, hung on a fine cable from a round canopy 5.5cm across and 13cm tall. Its integrated LED sits at the lower end of the tube, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 10W and gives 806lm through a 35° beam, a defined pool of light cast downwards rather than spread across the room. With a CRI of 90, food, fabric and wood keep their true colours beneath it. It comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K: the warmer 2700K for a soft evening glow, or 3000K for a slightly crisper white.

We like it best over a dining table, where the focused beam lights the table itself and the slim tube barely interrupts the view across the room. In a living room it sits well over a side table, a reading chair or a sideboard. It has a maximum drop of 200cm, so it can hang high under a tall ceiling or come well down over a table. Because the tube is so narrow, two or three hung side by side at different heights make an easy group above a long table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The tube is finished in white, a clean, plain finish that sits quietly against pale walls or stands out against darker ones. The light is not dimmable, so it works from an ordinary on and off switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Before you order, measure from the ceiling to where you want the bottom of the tube to sit, and choose 2700K or 3000K to match the other lights in the room.
