Description

The Tessa is an adjustable table lamp with an articulated iron arm and a dome shade in aluminium, finished all over in matt white. The arm is made of two jointed sections that angle and pivot, so you can raise the shade high over a desk or bring it down low and close to a book or a keyboard. The dome shade is 11.5cm across and 13cm tall and takes one E27 lamp. Lamps are not included, so you choose the bulb and the warmth of light that suits the room. The lamp stands 48cm tall and 50cm wide on a round base 18cm across.

It suits a home office desk, a bedside table or a side table next to a reading chair: anywhere you want light aimed where you need it rather than spread across the whole room. The matt white finish and simple modern lines sit easily in a Scandinavian scheme, a bright contemporary room or a study kept deliberately plain, and the soft curve of the dome stops it looking clinical. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The 2m textile cable gives you some freedom over where the lamp sits on a desk or table.

The structure is iron and the shade is aluminium, both in matt white, and the lamp is wired with a dark textile cable. It runs on 220-240V and has a simple on-off switch rather than a dimmer, so there is no dimmer to match. It carries a 2 year guarantee. We like a warm white E27 bulb, which gives a gentle glow at a bedside or on an evening desk, and angling the dome low keeps the bulb out of your eyeline. Against pale oak, linen or a soft grey wall the white reads calm and light, and on a darker desk it stands out as a crisp, graphic shape.
