Description
A two door cabinet 92cm tall, 100cm wide and 46cm deep. The carcass, the top and the four short square legs are smooth mango wood, pale and close grained. The two door fronts are faced in reclaimed timber laid in vertical boards that are split, grooved and worn open along the grain. A small square wooden knob sits where the doors meet, and each door swings on dark iron hinges set into the frame.
At 100cm wide and 46cm deep it takes a single wall rather than a run of one, which is what the design is for: a hallway, a living room or a pantry. The top is flat and clear at 92cm from the floor, so it carries a tray, a bowl or a lamp. Both doors are side hung and swing forward, so leave the width of a door clear in front of it.
The frame, the top and the legs are solid mango wood. The door fronts are reclaimed timber taken from old truck panels and left heavily distressed, so the splits, the lifted grain and the patina the boards arrived with all stay on the front of the cabinet and no two fronts match. The Tamia is made at this 100cm width and at 176cm, both 92cm tall and 46cm deep.

Frequently Asked
What are the doors made from?
Reclaimed timber taken from old truck panels, set into a frame of solid mango wood.
How big is it?
92cm tall, 100cm wide and 46cm deep. It weighs 47.7kg.
Is there a larger size?
Yes. The Tamia is also made at 176cm wide, at the same 92cm height and 46cm depth.
Will the doors look the same on every one?
Not exactly. The reclaimed boards are left as they come, so the splits, the nail marks and the worn patches differ on every cabinet.
How do I look after it?
The wood is sealed, but it still wants care. Wipe surfaces with a soft dry cloth, and use mild soap and water sparingly rather than a wet cloth, always working along the grain. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive materials away from it, stand hot and wet items on mats, and mop up spills straight away. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which fades the tone, and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which can open cracks in the wood.
