Description

The Knightsbridge matt black switch cover is a replacement rocker cap pre-marked 'WASHING MACHINE' in raised text. The cover clips onto the rocker mechanism of a standard Knightsbridge grid switch module, replacing the blank rocker cap with a labelled version that identifies the appliance circuit without needing adhesive labels or marker pen.

Designed for utility rooms, kitchens and plant rooms where multiple high-draw appliances share a single switch plate, the pre-marked cover allows each rocker to be identified at a glance. The cover is swapped by removing the existing rocker cap from the switch module and clipping the new marked cap into place — no rewiring or disassembly of the grid plate is required. The matt black finish matches the Knightsbridge Grid Pro range in matt black, giving a consistent appearance across the plate.

Constructed from ABS plastic with a steel spring clip, the rocker measures 33mm high by 16mm wide and projects 6.8mm from the faceplate when fitted. The raised 'WASHING MACHINE' text is moulded into the plastic rather than printed, so the marking will not wear off with repeated switching. The IP20 rating is suitable for dry indoor locations but not for zones 1-3 in bathrooms or outdoor use.

Which Knightsbridge switches does this fit?

The cover clips onto standard Knightsbridge Grid Pro rocker modules. It is compatible with single-pole, double-pole and intermediate rocker switches in the Grid Pro range, but does not fit non-grid light switches or older grid systems from other manufacturers.

Can the rocker be changed without turning off the power?

Yes. The rocker cap is a cosmetic cover that clips onto the switch mechanism. Swapping the cap does not require touching any electrical connections, so the circuit can remain live during the swap. However, switching the appliance off before changing the rocker is good practice.

Is the text permanent?

The 'WASHING MACHINE' text is moulded into the ABS plastic as raised lettering, not printed or adhered. It will not wear off with repeated use or cleaning, and remains legible for the life of the component.
