Description
The Steel is a slim linear bar that hangs as one straight line of light above a table or worktop. The body is an extruded aluminium profile in black, 1200mm long and just 20mm deep, with the LED set behind a diffuser along its underside. This is a mono-emission fitting, so all the light goes downward as a single even band onto the surface below, with no upward spill. Off, it reads as a fine painted bar suspended on slim cables.
The downward beam is a wide 104 degrees spread, so light falls as a soft continuous sheet rather than separate pools or a hard line. The bar suspends on cables up to around 2100mm, so it can drop low over a surface or sit higher in a taller room. At 1200mm it suits a dining table for four to six, a kitchen island or a desk, and several can be run in a line above a longer counter.
The frame is powder-coated aluminium in black and the light is a built-in LED drawing 29W for 3550 lumens at 3000K warm white, with a colour rendering index above 90 and a 50,000 hour life, so tones stay true and no bulb is ever bought or replaced. Rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, it arrives ready to wire in.

Frequently Asked
What kind of light does the Steel give?
A warm 3000K light aimed entirely downward. The LED sits behind a diffuser along the underside, so it casts an even sheet across a 104 degrees spread onto the surface below rather than separate points, and a colour rendering index above 90 keeps colours true. There is no upward spill on this version.
Does it need bulbs?
No. A built-in LED drawing 29W for 3550 lumens runs the length of the bar and is included, so there is nothing separate to fit. The module is rated for around a 50,000 hour life of normal use.
Can it be dimmed?
The driver is not dimmable as standard, so it holds a fixed warm 3000K output. We are happy to advise on compatible switching before you order.
Where does it suit best?
At 1200mm and only 20mm deep, it hangs cleanly over a dining table, kitchen island or desk where a downward working light is wanted, and reads well run singly or in a line over a longer surface.
