Description

The Soft S/30 is an outdoor pendant light with a bell-shaped shade in Ochre, its surface worked into a deep diamond texture that catches the light all the way round. A white diffuser closes the open base, keeping the bulb out of sight and sending the light downwards. The shade is 24cm tall and 30cm across, and it hangs from a 12.1cm canopy on 200cm of black cable, for an overall height of 228cm. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 15W, sold separately, which provides the light, so you can choose the warmth and brightness you prefer.

Rated IP44, it suits outdoor use as well as indoor rooms, which makes it a natural choice over a dining table on a terrace, under a pergola or on a covered patio where you eat outside on long summer evenings. Indoors it is just as at home in a dining room or a living room, hung on its own over a small table or as a pair over a longer one. At 30cm across it sits comfortably between small and large, so it lights a table well without crowding the room, and the warm Ochre colour brings life to white walls, natural wood and stone.

It is made from aluminium and silicone, with a Textured & Black finish, and the soft, tactile shade sets its crisp geometric pattern against a gentle, rounded form. The design is by Danos Salgados. The fitting is Class II and runs on 230V mains, wired in rather than plugged in, so it needs a qualified electrician to install it. Once it is up, all it asks of you is the right bulb: an E27 of no more than 15W.
