Description

This is a single artificial snowball stem, 73cm tall and 19cm across at its widest, carrying five round flower heads in purple on slender branches with serrated leaves. Each head is a dense cluster of tiny florets, so the blooms read as soft pompoms rather than open petals, and they sit at different heights, from a full head at the tip to smaller ones on the side stems. It is made of polyester, iron and polyethylene, and at 0.07KG it weighs next to nothing in the hand.

At 73cm it is tall enough for a floor vase or a deep vase on a sideboard, and cut shorter it sits well in a smaller vase on a windowsill, a mantelpiece or a bedside table. A single stem in a slim bottle vase gives a simple, airy line; several stems together build a fuller bunch of purple for a dining table or a hall console. An artificial stem does not wilt, so it suits the rooms where fresh flowers tend to be forgotten: a guest bedroom, a home office or a hallway that sees people only in passing.

The maker asks that it be handled with care, as the leaves and flower heads can break, and that it be trimmed and folded into place before use. In practice that means cutting the stem to the height your vase needs, then gently bending the side stems and leaves until they sit the way you want. Once it is arranged, leave it in place rather than moving it often. For a fuller display, mix it with a few other faux stems in a wide-necked vase, letting the round purple heads rise just above the rim at different heights. The styling props shown are not included.

Frequently Asked

How tall is the snowball stem?

It is 73cm tall and 19cm across at its widest, so it suits a tall vase as it is, or it can be cut shorter for a smaller one.

What is the stem's material?

It is made of 80% polyester, 10% iron and 10% polyethylene, and it weighs 0.07KG, so it is very light to arrange.

Does it need any preparation before use?

Yes. The maker asks that the stem be trimmed and folded into place before use, so you cut it to height and bend the side stems and leaves into shape.

How many flower heads does it have?

Each stem carries five round purple flower heads of different sizes, set at different heights along its branches with serrated leaves between them.

How should I look after it?

Handle it with care, because the leaves and flower heads can break; once it is arranged to your liking, it is best moved as little as possible.

Is the vase included?

No. You receive one artificial stem; the vase and other styling props shown are not included, so you can choose your own vase.
