Description

The Knightsbridge 3-gang grid faceplate is a matt black premium steel cover plate designed for use with the Knightsbridge modular grid switching system. The faceplate measures 148mm wide by 88mm high with a 3.5mm projection from the wall, and accepts three grid modules in a horizontal configuration. The screwless design uses a clip-on cover that conceals all fixings behind the plate once installed.

Designed for installations where custom switch and socket configurations are needed — such as hotel rooms, AV control walls, or kitchen worktop switch banks — the grid system allows individual switch, socket, dimmer and data modules to be mixed and matched within a single faceplate. The 3-gang format accommodates three standard grid modules side by side, or a combination of single and double-width modules depending on the specific grid components being used. Installation requires one GDS002F grid frame (sold separately) which mounts to the back box and provides the fixing points for the grid modules.

The matt black finish is applied to premium-grade steel, giving a durable, low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and minor scratches better than painted finishes. The faceplate carries IP20 rating for dry indoor use and a 25-year manufacturer warranty. The matt black coordinates with other Knightsbridge screwless ranges in the same finish, allowing grid faceplates to sit alongside standard switches and sockets in a matching visual style.

What grid modules does this faceplate accept?

The 3-gang faceplate accepts three standard Knightsbridge grid modules in a horizontal row. Grid modules include switches, dimmers, sockets, USB chargers, data outlets and blank plates. You can mix different module types within the same faceplate depending on your requirements.

What else do I need to install this faceplate?

You need one GDS002F grid frame (sold separately) which mounts to a standard back box and provides the fixing structure for the grid modules. The modules themselves clip into the frame, and this faceplate then clips over the entire assembly to conceal all fixings.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto the grid frame beneath and can be removed for painting around the switch position, then re-clipped without needing to disturb the wiring or grid modules.
