Description

The Rutland is a 39cm-tall hurricane candle holder built around a single vertical iron stem finished in antique gold, set on a 10.5cm circular natural brown marble base. The stem features a circular loop midpoint detail and supports a cylindrical hammered clear glass shade approximately 15cm tall, designed to hold a pillar candle and shield the flame from drafts whilst allowing light to scatter through the textured glass surface.

Designed for console tables, sideboards, mantels and dining table centrepieces where candlelight is needed without risking exposed flames near fabrics or paper, the Rutland suits both traditional and transitional interiors. The antique gold finish on the iron frame carries a muted, slightly bronzed tone rather than bright yellow gold, pairing comfortably with warm wood furniture, brass hardware and earth-toned textiles. The marble base provides weight and stability, and each piece shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone used.

The hammered texture on the glass creates faceted light reflections when the candle is lit, softening the direct glow and casting subtle moving patterns onto nearby walls as the flame flickers. The glass cylinder is approximately 10cm in diameter internally, fitting standard pillar candles up to 10cm wide and 15cm tall. The candle sits on the iron platform at the base of the glass shade.

Does the glass shade remove for candle replacement?

Yes. The hammered glass cylinder lifts off the iron frame, allowing you to place and replace candles without dismantling the whole fitting.

Is the marble base stable on soft surfaces?
