Description

This ceiling light from our Royal range is a single globe of alabaster, 10cm across, held beneath a round brass base in a matt polished brass finish. It fixes flush to the ceiling with no stem, so nothing comes between the stone sphere and the ceiling but its base. The base is 6.5cm across and 1.5cm tall, small enough that the globe does almost all the talking. Alabaster is a natural stone, and soft veining runs through it in warm white and beige. The fitting takes one G9 lamp; we recommend a G9 LED, and any lamp you choose should be no longer than 60mm.

Because it keeps so close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where headroom matters: hallways, landings, corridors, a walk-in wardrobe or a bedroom with a low ceiling. Its modest scale also makes it a good choice where a larger pendant would crowd the space, such as above a bed, in a reading nook or over a dressing table. It is rated IP20, which means dry rooms only. The look is modern but warm, and it sits comfortably in pale contemporary schemes as well as richer rooms where brass and stone already feel at home. We think it suits anyone who wants real stone overhead without a large fitting.

The base is brass in a matt polished brass finish, and the shade is natural alabaster, so the two materials carry the design between them.
