Description
The Roos is a modern wall light built around a copper disc, with two cylinders of white sandblasted acrylic running out to either side, so the whole piece reads as one slim, level bar of light crossing a round plate. A channel runs through the centre of the disc where the cylinders meet, a neat detail that gives the copper finish depth and shadow. Inside, an integrated LED draws 12W and gives 700 lumens; the LED is built in, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. The acrylic spreads that light through a 360° beam, so the cylinders glow evenly along their length rather than throwing a hard pool onto one spot.
We see it as a wall light for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and landings, used on its own or in pairs. Set either side of a bed or a dressing table mirror, it gives soft, even light at eye level, and with a CRI of 90 or above, colours and skin tones look true under it. It comes in two colour temperatures: 2700K for a warmer, cosier glow and 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white, so you can match it to the other lights in the room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it works from an ordinary on-off switch rather than a dimmer.
The structure is iron, finished in copper, and the cylinders are sandblasted acrylic, which gives them their soft, frosted surface and keeps the LED out of sight. It runs on 220-240V mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 5 year guarantee. For styling, copper sits warmly against deep greens, soft greys and plaster pinks, and the long horizontal line works well above a headboard or along a narrow hallway wall.
