Description

Our Roma is a modern wall light that carries its cone shade out into the room on a long, slim arm. A large round disc sits flat against the wall, the arm runs out from it, and the conical shade hangs on a short cord from the tip, with a fine wire running back to the top of the disc. The structure is iron in matt black, the cone is aluminium in sand yellow, and the fitting has opal glass. It takes one GX53 lamp. It comes in two sizes, 60cm and 120cm: the 60cm size has a wall disc 35cm across and a shade 21cm across, and the 120cm size has a wall disc 49cm across and a shade 33cm across.

Because the shade hangs well clear of the wall, this cone wall light puts light where a ceiling point often is not: over an armchair in the corner of a living room, beside a sofa, or across a desk or a hallway console. The 60cm size suits a narrower spot, such as the wall beside a bed. The 120cm size is the larger of the two, with the bigger disc and shade, and holds its own on a broad wall above a sofa or a sideboard. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It is a switched fitting, turned on and off rather than dimmed, so there is no dimmer to match, and it runs on 220-240V. Its iron frame and aluminium cone keep the fitting slim and graphic on the wall. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, let the sand yellow cone bring a note of warm colour to a white or grey wall, and echo it with natural wood or linen; the black disc reads as a clean circle behind it.
