Description

The Roda S/90/V is a vertical ring pendant light: a hoop of pleated Cream Translucent Ribbon 90cm across that hangs upright, with a dark inner frame tracing its centre. Its light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 31W and gives 505 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, passing softly through the translucent ribbon so the whole ring glows rather than glares. It is made of aluminium, steel and ribbon.

At 90cm across, this is a pendant for a room with space around it. We like it over a long dining table, where the open ring lets you see straight through to the rest of the room, or in a living room with a generous ceiling height, where the drop of up to 200cm lets you set it where it suits. The warm light and cream ribbon sit happily alongside timber and soft furnishings. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes in three dimming versions, 1-10V, TRIAC or DALI: the TRIAC dimmable version works with a compatible dimmer, and the 1-10V and DALI dimmable versions with a compatible control system of the same type.

You also choose how it is installed: with a surface canopy or with a remote driver. The canopy is a round plate 22cm across. The ribbon is pleated in fine, regular folds all the way round, and the dark inner frame gives the glowing shade a crisp edge. It runs at 230V and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains, so a qualified electrician should install it. Settle on the dimming version and the installation choice before you order, so the fitting matches the controls in your home.
