Description

The Roda S/120/V is a large ring pendant light that hangs vertically: a pleated shade of Cream Translucent Ribbon around a dark inner ring. The ring is 120cm across and 11cm deep, and it hangs on fine wires from a round canopy 30cm across, with a drop of up to 200cm. The light source is integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 44.4W and gives 726lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so wood, fabric and skin tones look natural, and the light glows softly through the ribbon rather than shining out from a bare point.

At this size, the Roda pendant light suits a room with space around it. We like it hung above a long dining table, where it gives an even, gentle glow for a meal, and in a living room with a generous ceiling height it becomes the centre of the room while the light stays soft. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. It comes in two dimmable versions: the DALI dimmable version, which works with a compatible DALI control system, and a second dimmable version for use with a compatible dimmer. It also comes in two installation versions, with a surface canopy or with a remote driver.

It is made from aluminium, steel and ribbon, and the ribbon runs pleated around the whole circle, so the shade reads as one unbroken band of light. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician; it is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. Before you order, decide on the drop you want between ceiling and ring, up to 200cm, and check the room can take a ring 120cm across with space to spare.
