Description

The Rio Linear 3 Light Dome Chandelier is a long, linear pendant. A straight iron bar 90cm long carries three dome shades hung beneath it, spaced evenly along its length. Each dome is 12cm across and the whole fitting is 14cm tall, so it reads as a slim line of light rather than a bulky chandelier. It is finished in terracotta, a warm, earthy colour that sits well against white walls, pale timber and natural linen. The fitting has three GX53 lamp holders, one in each dome, and the open shades direct their light downwards onto whatever sits beneath.

A linear fitting like this is made for long surfaces. We would hang it over a dining table, where the three domes spread light along its full length, or above a long desk, sideboard or console in a study or hallway. Its clean modern lines and Scandinavian feel suit a contemporary home, a calm, pared back scheme or a warmer room built around clay, wood and rattan tones. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, dining rooms, studies, bedrooms and hallways. With three lamps sharing the work, it lights a table more evenly than a single pendant can.

The structure is iron, and the fitting comes with 2m of textile cable and an 8cm ceiling canopy that stays small and neat overhead. It runs on 220 to 240V with on-off switched control, so it works from an ordinary wall switch rather than a dimmer. As a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, centre the bar over the length of the table and let the terracotta pick up a rug, ceramics or cushions in a similar earthy shade.
