Description

The Rio 9 linear chandelier sets five small red dome shades in a single straight line beneath a slim iron rail, 120cm long and 9.5cm high. Each shade is 9cm across, so the light comes from five neat points rather than one large fitting, and the rail between them keeps the look light and graphic. It takes five GX53 lamps, one in each shade, and it is a switched fitting, on or off rather than dimmed. Rail and shades are finished in red, with an 8cm ceiling canopy and a 2m textile cable bringing the power down.

Its long, low shape is made for spaces that run lengthways. Hang it over a dining table and the five shades follow the line of the table, putting a point of light above each stretch of it. It works just as well above a long sideboard, a reception counter or a run of desks in a home office or studio. The repeated domes give a calm rhythm that keeps a long room feeling ordered. It suits modern and Scandinavian interiors, where the clean rail sits comfortably with plain timber, linen and pale walls. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms only.
