Description

René is a linear LED pendant built around one long, straight bar that hangs level beneath the ceiling. Two slim burgundy suspension rods carry the black bar, and a round black ceiling canopy, 12cm across, brings power down through a textile cable. The structure is aluminium with an iron base. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It comes in two sizes. The 120cm size is 120cm long, draws 12W and gives 1000 lumens. The 160cm size is 160cm long, draws 16W and gives 1300 lumens. Both give a warm white 3000K light with a CRI of 90 or more, so wood, food and skin look true, and a wide 120° beam spreads it broadly along the bar.

We like it over a dining table, where the straight line of light follows the table's length and reaches the diners at both ends. Choose the 120cm size for a shorter table and the 160cm size for a longer one. It also works above a long desk in a home office, a reception counter or a sideboard in a living room, and its clean, modern lines sit well in a contemporary home. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is not dimmable and runs on an ordinary on-off switch.

René pairs an aluminium structure with an iron base, and its textile cable runs 2 m. It works on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee. As a styling note, the deep burgundy rods and black bar look rich against cream, grey or white walls and sit well with oak or walnut furniture.
