Description

The Renata Mini Drum is a compact pendant light in matt black, made of a neat drum shade beneath a slim cylindrical neck, with a gold-toned ring where the two meet. It is a simple geometric shape in the modern Scandinavian manner, and that narrow band of warm colour is the only ornament it carries. The structure is aluminium, and it hangs on a textile cable 1.5m long. It takes one E27 lamp. Lamps are not included, so you choose the bulb, its brightness and its warmth, and because E27 is a common cap, replacements are easy to find.

We like it where a small, tidy pendant suits better than a large one: a hallway, a landing, beside the bed in place of a bedside lamp, or above a reading chair in a living room. Hang several in a row over a dining table and they make a clean, ordered line. The matt black sits comfortably with pale timber, white walls and other black fittings, and the gold-toned ring adds a little warmth without fuss. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only. It is a switched fitting, working from an ordinary on-off wall switch, and it runs on 220-240V mains.

The construction is straightforward: an aluminium structure finished in matt black, with a textile cable rather than plastic flex.
