Description

A feather cushion pad, 65cm by 45cm on the face and 18cm deep, filled with a mix of duck feather and down. The casing is cambric, and the pad is made larger than the cover it goes into rather than the same size.

The rectangle is cut for a 60 x 40cm cushion cover, 5cm longer and 5cm deeper than the cover itself, and that surplus is what carries the corners out instead of leaving them slack. Eighteen centimetres is the same depth as every other pad in the range, so a rectangle sits as full as a square beside it on the same sofa.

The pads are made in the south west of England. Cambric is a closely woven cotton, and a tight weave is what slows feathers working their way out through it. A square 55 x 55cm pad is made for 50 x 50cm covers, and two further sizes run at 70 x 70cm and 40 x 85cm.
