Description

Our Rea dome pendant light is a low, wide dome of aluminium in a matt black finish, hung on a black textile cable from a round ceiling canopy. It comes in two sizes: 38cm across and 50cm across. The 38cm size has a shade 10cm tall, a 12cm canopy and a 1.5m textile cable. Inside the dome is one GX53 lamp holder, set in a round opening in the underside, so the light is thrown down onto the table or floor beneath rather than out to the sides. Seen from the side, the matt black shell keeps the lamp out of sight and the outline clean.

With its plain, rounded profile, the Rea suits modern and Scandinavian rooms. It works well over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the light falls straight onto the surface below. The 38cm size suits a small round table, a reading corner or a hallway; the 50cm size has the presence for a larger dining table or an open-plan living space. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies.

The shade is aluminium in a matt black finish, and it hangs on a textile cable. The fitting runs on 220 to 240V mains and works on a simple on-off switch, so it is not one to put on a dimmer. As a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 3 year guarantee. For styling, the matt black stands out crisply against white walls, pale timber and soft linen, and two or three Rea pendants hung in a line make a neat row over a long dining table or kitchen island.
