Description

The Rea floor lamp is a modern light for the corner of a living room, built around a shallow dome shade on an adjustable swing arm. The dome is aluminium in matt black, a 38cm shade that is 10cm deep, and it hangs from a short arm that swings out from the top of a slim matt black iron stem. The stem rises from a flat, round base 25cm across, and the lamp stands 129cm tall. Inside the dome are three E27 lamp holders, so three standard screw-in bulbs share one wide shade rather than three separate heads.

It is made for the living room, the study and the bedroom: beside a sofa, next to an armchair or at the end of a desk. Because the arm is adjustable, you can swing the shade out over a chair when you sit down to read, then turn it back towards the wall when you want it out of the way. It makes a good reading light. The lamp is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its 2m cable gives a little room to stand it away from the socket.
