Description

The Raisa is a modern swing arm wall light: a long matt black iron arm reaches out from the wall and holds a white fabric drum shade on a textile cable. The shade is 45cm across and 20cm tall, a generous drum that softens the light from its single E27 lamp holder and lets it fall in a gentle pool beneath. The arm is adjustable, swinging out from its wall brackets and pivoting so you can set the shade exactly where you want the light, then swing it back towards the wall when you do not need it.

Because it hangs from the wall rather than the ceiling, the Raisa suits places where a pendant or a floor lamp would be awkward: beside a sofa or armchair in the living room, over a bedside table, or above a desk in a home office, where you can swing the shade across to light your work. We also like it over a small dining table or in a reading corner. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and its clean lines and simple black and white look sit happily in modern interiors.

The structure is iron, finished in matt black, with a fabric shade and a textile cable that keeps the run from shade to arm soft and neat. It takes one E27 lamp, the standard large screw cap, so it accepts a wide choice of lamps, and it works from a simple on-off switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V and carries a 3 year guarantee. For a balanced look, hang it so the drum sits just above eye level when you are seated, or hang a pair either side of a bed for matching reading light on both sides.
