Description

Christmas breakfasts and suppers feel more festive with these four green stoneware bowls, each 13cm across and 7.5cm tall and holding 500ml. Around the outside runs a band of little angel mice with haloes and wings, some playing trumpets and harps, one wearing a crown of candles, all walking beneath a scalloped border just under the rim. Inside, each bowl is glazed in a deep contrasting tone, so the pattern stays on the outside and your food sits against a plain, glossy surface.

At 500ml, this is a generous everyday bowl size: right for porridge or cereal in the morning, a bowl of soup at lunch, or a helping of trifle or Christmas pudding with custard after the big meal. Laid at each place on the Christmas table, the four bowls give a family or a small gathering of guests a matching festive touch, and they work just as well on a sideboard holding nuts, clementines or sweets for people to help themselves. They also make a cheerful present for anyone setting up a home in time for December.

Stoneware is dense and hard-wearing, and these bowls are finished in a glaze that gives them a smooth, glossy surface.
