Description

This 17cm peacock figurine depicts a peacock in full display with tail feathers fanned, cast in polyresin and finished in distressed antique bronze. The feathers are individually moulded with eye detail and barb texture, and the body shows scale texture on the neck and chest. The bronze finish has been deliberately distressed to show darker recesses in the feather detail and lighter worn highlights on raised surfaces.

Designed as a shelf, mantel or side table accent, the figurine sits on a moulded ground base approximately 17cm wide that gives stability without needing additional mounting. The piece suits traditional interiors, country house styling and rooms where bronze or brass accents are already present in frames, light fittings or door furniture. At 0.5kg the figurine has enough mass to resist casual knocks but remains light enough to reposition.

The polyresin construction allows fine detail in the feather moulding that would be difficult to achieve in solid bronze at this price point, while the antique finish mimics the patina of aged metalwork. The rough texture on the finish means fingerprints and handling marks are less visible than on polished or satin surfaces. What is polyresin?

Polyresin is a dense composite resin that accepts fine detail in casting and holds crisp edges better than plaster or ceramic. It is more durable than plaster but lighter than solid metal, making it suitable for decorative figurines where detail and weight balance are both important.

How is the bronze finish maintained?

The distressed antique bronze finish is intentionally rough and does not require polishing. Dust with a soft dry cloth or soft brush. Avoid water, household sprays and polishes as these can alter the patina or leave residue in the feather recesses.
