Description

The Patio is a rechargeable table lamp with an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. A white bowl-shaped shade sits on a slim gold cylinder, so the light glows softly through the sides. It gives 290 lumens of warm white light at 3000K from a 3W LED, with a CRI of 80+, and it is made from aluminium and plastic in a gold finish. It comes in two sizes: the 16.5cm version is 16.5cm tall and 16cm across, and the lower 12.5cm version is 13cm tall with a wider, shallower bowl.

Rated IP44, it suits outdoor use as well as indoor, and that is where we think it really earns its place: on a garden table, on a patio or on a terrace at dinner, with no cable to run and no socket to find. Indoors it sits happily on a bedside table, a sideboard or a dining table. The touch dimmer lets you turn the light up for reading or down low for conversation, so it needs no separate dimmer switch. A full battery gives 8 to 10 hours of light, enough for a long evening outside.

The design is by Oriol Llahona, and the construction keeps things simple: an integrated LED and a Li-ion battery sit inside, so there is nothing to wire in. A full charge takes 6 hours. It comes without a charger or USB cable, which are sold separately: the Single USB Lamp Charger with 1.5m Cable charges one lamp, and the 8 Port USB Lamp Charger with 1.5m Cables charges up to eight at once. For styling, we like the two sizes together, the taller one beside the lower, wider one, running down the centre of a long table with a few candles or flowers in between.
