Description

The Olaia is a 3 light bar pendant with three cylindrical amber glass shades suspended from a 57cm matte black ceiling plate on height-adjustable cables. Each shade houses a 6W integrated 3000K LED behind GX53 fittings, giving a combined 18W output across the three lights. The matt black metal frame includes satin gold accents on the lamp holders inside each glass shade, visible when the light is off.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.0m, the Olaia provides task and accent lighting across a linear zone. The adjustable suspension allows the pendant to hang between 25cm and 110cm from the ceiling, giving installation flexibility to match worktop or table height. The 57cm width suits islands and tables between 1.2m and 1.8m in length without visual crowding.

The amber glass filters the 3000K warm white LED to a deeper golden tone, softening the light output and reducing glare when viewed from below or at eye level. Each glass shade is double-walled, with a clear inner cylinder surrounding the lamp and an outer amber layer that diffuses the light outward. The matte black finish on the ceiling plate and cables recedes visually against dark ceilings, leaving the amber glass as the primary decorative element. At 1.75kg total weight the pendant is light enough for standard plasterboard ceiling fixings without additional support.

The IP20 rating restricts the Olaia to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or any environment where moisture or splashing is present. The integrated LED modules are non-replaceable, so the entire fitting is designed for a service life matching the LED lifespan rather than bulb replacement cycles.

No. The Olaia uses integrated GX53 LED modules that are not user-replaceable. The fitting is designed for a service life matching the LED lifespan, typically 15,000-25,000 hours depending on usage.

What length kitchen island does it suit?

The 57cm width works best over islands or dining tables between 1.2m and 1.8m long. For longer islands, consider using multiple Olaia pendants spaced evenly, or choose a larger bar pendant from the Schuller range.

How far should it hang above a worktop or table?

For kitchen islands the pendant typically hangs 70-80cm above the worktop surface. For dining tables, 75-85cm above the table gives good illumination without obstructing sightlines across the table. The adjustable cables allow precise positioning during installation.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model and the GX53 LED modules fitted. Most integrated LED pendants from Schuller support trailing-edge dimmers, but confirm compatibility with your electrician before installation to avoid flicker or failure to dim fully.
