Description

The Noren S/85 is a pendant light built around one large, flat fabric disc, 85cm across and just 10cm deep, hung on two fine wires from a black canopy. The disc is covered in a terracotta thermoplastic fabric over a core of sound-absorbing foam, with aluminium and MDF giving it its structure, so it reads as a soft circle of warm colour rather than a hard shade. An integrated LED lights it, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and the light is a warm 3000K with a CRI of 95, which keeps wood, fabric and skin tones looking true. We sell it in two light directions: direct, which sends the light down, and direct and indirect, which sends it down and up. Depending on the version, it draws 14.4W or 21.4W and gives 254lm or 470lm.

At 85cm across, this is a pendant for a generous room. It suits a dining room, hung over a long table where the disc can be seen face on, and a living room with a high ceiling, where a single large shape does more than a cluster of small ones. The drop adjusts from 135cm to 385cm, so it can sit low over a table or hang well down from a tall ceiling. The sound-absorbing core earns its place in rooms with hard floors and bare walls, where voices carry. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. The black canopy is 56cm across and the two wires hold the disc upright and steady beneath it. It dims on a DALI control system, so it is worth planning the dimming with the rest of your lighting before work starts. It runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician.
