Description

The Noren S/85 is a pendant light built around a single round disc, 85cm across, covered in dark grey fabric. It hangs upright on two fine wires from its canopy, with a drop of 135cm to 385cm, so it can sit low over a table or high in a tall room. Light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It glows a warm white at 3000K, with a CRI of 95 that keeps food, wood and skin tones looking true. It comes in two versions: direct light, or direct and indirect light. The LED draws 14.4W or 21.4W and gives 251lm or 465lm, depending on the version you choose.

We see it over a dining table or in a living room, where a disc of this size gives the space a clear centre. The dark grey fabric looks soft rather than shiny, which suits calm, textured schemes as well as plainer modern rooms. It is DALI dimmable, so it dims through a DALI lighting control system, letting you lower the light for an evening meal and raise it again for clearing up. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor rooms only, and it is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician.

It is made from aluminium, MDF and sound absorbing foam, with a thermoplastic fire resistant fabric giving the disc its soft dark grey face. The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. It runs at 277V DC and is a Class I fitting. Before you order, measure your ceiling height against the 135cm to 385cm drop, and allow for a disc 85cm across hanging below it.
