Description

The Noren S/123 is a fabric LED pendant light built around one long, gently curved panel in Light Grey, hung on two fine wires from a slim black ceiling canopy. The panel is 123cm wide and 35cm tall, with a projection of 18cm, and the drop adjusts from 85cm to 335cm, so it hangs well over a long table or under a high ceiling. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives a warm white 3000K with a CRI of 95, which keeps food, wood and fabric looking true to colour. It comes in two versions, one giving direct light and one giving direct and indirect light, and depending on the version it draws 15.3W or 22.3W and gives 499lm or 865lm.

Its long, low line makes it a natural choice over a dining table, and it sits just as comfortably above a sofa or a long sideboard in a living room. It is made with a sound absorbing foam, a welcome quality in an open-plan room where voices carry. It is DALI dimmable, so with a compatible DALI control you can bring the light down for a slow supper or up for reading the papers. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor rooms only.

Alongside the foam, it is made from aluminium, MDF and a thermoplastic fabric, with a black structure and a Light Grey shade. The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. It runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. The ceiling canopy measures 126cm, so it is worth planning its position over the table before that work begins, and choosing a drop that leaves a clear view across the table beneath the panel.
