Description

The Noren S/123.2 is a fabric LED pendant light built around one wide, gently curved panel in terracotta, hung on two fine wires from a long black canopy. The light is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 3000K light with a CRI of 95, which keeps food, fabrics and faces looking true to colour. It comes in two light directions, Direct or Direct and indirect, drawing 15.3W or 22.3W and giving 427lm or 739lm depending on the version you choose. The panel is 70cm tall; the widths are 126cm and 123cm and the projections 6cm and 18cm.

We like it most over a long dining table, where its width follows the line of the table and the drop can be set anywhere from 120cm to 370cm, so it sits comfortably under a standard ceiling or a tall one. It suits a living room just as well, hung over a sofa or a low table. The terracotta fabric brings warm colour to a room even with the light off, and with sound-absorbing foam among its materials it is a good pick for a dining room where voices carry. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It is made from aluminium, sound-absorbing foam, a thermoplastic fabric and MDF, with the black canopy above and the terracotta panel hanging below it. The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. It runs on mains power at 277V DC and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, and it dims through DALI, so it suits a home with a DALI lighting control in place. Before it goes up, measure your table and your ceiling height, so you can settle the drop that puts the panel at the right height over the table.
