Description

The Noren S/123.2 is a wide fabric LED pendant light: one curved panel with a light grey shade, hung on two fine wires from a black structure at the ceiling. Its light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives a warm 3000K light with a CRI of 95, so food, wood and faces look true to colour. The panel is 70cm tall, the fitting measures 126cm and 123cm in width, and it hangs with a drop of 120cm to 370cm. It comes in two versions: direct light, aimed downwards, or direct and indirect light, which also lifts light towards the ceiling. Depending on the version, it draws 15.3W or 22.3W and gives 499lm or 865lm.

We like it most over a long dining table, where one fitting spreads its light along the table and the soft fabric panel brings a calm, textile surface to the room. In an open-plan living room it marks out the dining or seating area without closing it off. The long drop range means it works under a high ceiling as well as a standard one. Inside the panel is a core of sound-absorbing foam, a sensible choice for rooms with hard floors and large windows where voices carry. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

It is made from aluminium, MDF, sound-absorbing foam and a thermoplastic fabric, with a black structure and a light grey shade. The design is by Estudi Manel Molina. It is a Class I fitting that runs on mains power at 277V DC, and it is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It dims through a DALI control system, so check that your lighting controls use DALI before it is installed, and plan the drop so the panel sits at the right height over your table.
