Description

The Noren S/100 is a large disc pendant light: a round panel 100cm across, covered in Dark Grey thermoplastic fabric over a core of sound-absorbing foam, with aluminium and MDF in its make-up. It hangs on two fine wires from a slim bar canopy. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives a warm 3000K light with a CRI of 95, so colours look true and natural. It comes in two light directions, Direct or Direct and indirect, drawing 14.4W or 21.4W for 251lm or 465lm, according to the version.

A disc this size suits a dining room, where it can hang over a long table and give the room one clear focal point, and it works just as well in a living room above a sofa or a reading corner. The Direct version sends its light down onto the table or seating beneath it, while the Direct and indirect version adds indirect light as well, for a softer spread across the room. The fabric face gives the disc a soft, matt surface that sits quietly against plain walls and warm timber. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The disc is made from aluminium, MDF, sound-absorbing foam and a thermoplastic fabric, and the design is by Estudi Manel Molina. It is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, and it is DALI dimmable, so it dims through a DALI lighting control. Before ordering, measure from your ceiling to the tabletop or floor: the drop runs from 150cm to 400cm, so you can plan the height you want.
