Description
Noeli is a little Christmas street in iron. Five houses stand shoulder to shoulder on one long base, from two tall, narrow end houses to a long, low terrace, a gabled house and a cottage with a little dormer over its arched window. Windows are cut right through the metal, some square and paned, some arched, and each tall end house carries a cut-out star high on its gable. It is 52cm long, 6cm wide and 20cm tall, and weighs 0.64KG, so it has real presence along a sill or shelf while staying easy to lift and move.
As a tealight holder it comes into its own after dark. With a tealight lit, light shows through every window and star, and the row looks like a lane of homes with the lamps on. At only 6cm wide it sits happily on a narrow windowsill, and its 52cm length runs comfortably along a mantelpiece, a bookshelf or the back of a sideboard. It belongs to the Christmas weeks, from the first Advent evening through to New Year, and makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who likes to dress their windows for the season.
The houses are made of 100% iron with a textured powder-coated finish, which gives the grey surface a fine crackled, weathered look rather than a flat, painted one. Powder coating is baked on, not brushed, so it forms an even, hard-wearing skin over the metal. The roofs carry a brick-like texture, and all five houses stand together on one long base, which keeps the row neat and level. For styling, keep the company simple: a few bare winter branches, some paper stars or a pair of plain candlesticks nearby, and let the glowing windows set the mood.
