Description

This rechargeable table lamp is made from iron and PMMA in a brass colour, and its character comes from one simple line. A slim stem rises from a small round base, then bends over at the top in a smooth arc, so the round shade sits at the end of the curve and points its light down and forwards. The lamp stands 35.5cm tall, 16.5cm long and 8.5cm wide, and the shade is 8.5cm across and 3.8cm tall. At 0.63KG it is light enough to move from room to room.

Because it runs on a rechargeable lithium battery, it needs no socket nearby once charged, which frees it for the places a corded lamp cannot reach. We like it on a bedside table, at the end of a bookcase, on a sideboard in the dining room or beside a laptop on a desk, and at 8.5cm wide it fits a narrow shelf without crowding it. The 1 W LED is a low-wattage source, so think of it as a soft, local light beside you in the evening rather than a lamp for a whole room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

PMMA is an acrylic plastic, and the iron carries the brass colour with a soft sheen. The switch sits under the base, and touching the top of the lamp dims the light, so you can adjust it without hunting for a control. The LED, the lithium battery and a 100cm charging cable are included, and a small charging port sits low on the base. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download.
