Description

The Nans Sphere S/80 is a large woven outdoor pendant light: a globe 80cm across and 76cm tall, with an open lattice shade in Brown (with Beige and Light Grey) and a structure in Graphite Brown. It is made from stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre, and the light comes through the open weave as a soft, patterned glow. Inside is a 24W integrated LED giving 722 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and food and faces look natural under it. It is dimmable on a compatible TRIAC dimmer, so you can bring it down for a late supper.

It is rated IP54, so it suits outdoor use: hung from a pergola, a covered terrace or a veranda roof over a dining table or an outdoor seating area, where one 80cm globe lights the whole spread. It hangs on a 200cm suspension, 276cm from top to bottom in all, so it wants a tall pergola or a high ceiling. It works just as well indoors, over a dining table or in a living room with generous height, where the woven sphere brings warmth and texture to a plain room. Two or three in a row over a long table make a fine group.

It is a 230V fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, and it is a Class I fitting. The open weave of synthetic fibre sits around the light, and the Graphite Brown structure gives a darker line against the paler shade. With an integrated LED there is no bulb to reach for at height, which matters on a fitting this size. Before you order, measure the drop: at 276cm from top to bottom, it needs a beam, pergola or ceiling with height to spare above your table or seating.
