Description

The Nans Sphere S/60 is a large woven pendant light, a 60cm sphere of synthetic fibre on a stainless steel and aluminium structure. The structure is finished in Graphite Brown and the shade is Brown (with Beige and Light Grey), an open brown lattice over a paler inner weave. It runs on an integrated LED of 14W giving 393lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours and skin tones look natural beneath it. The sphere is 60cm across and 57cm tall, and it hangs on a 200cm suspension from a canopy 12cm across and 5cm deep, for a total height of 267cm.

Because it is rated IP54 and made for outdoor use, the same pendant works indoors and out. Indoors, we like it over a dining table, where the warm light and true colour suit long meals, or in a living room with the ceiling height for a sphere this size. Outdoors, hang it from the ceiling of a covered terrace, a pergola or a porch, where the woven shade makes a garden dining area feel like a room. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can bring it down to a low glow for the evening.

It is made from stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre, and the whole fitting carries its IP54 rating, so it is as much at home on a covered terrace as over the dining table. It is a Class I fitting, which needs an earthed supply, and it runs on 230V mains. It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The integrated LED means there is no bulb to buy or change. When you plan where it goes, allow for its overall height of 267cm, and choose a compatible dimmer at the same time.
