Description

The Nans S/31 is a woven LED pendant light made for outdoor use as well as for the house. Its rounded barrel shade is 30.7cm tall and 31.5cm across, woven in Brown (with Beige and Light Grey), with a Graphite Brown structure. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 9.5W and gives 265lm of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps faces, food and timber looking natural. The open weave lets the glow through in a soft, dappled pattern, so the shade looks as good lit as it does by day.

Rated IP54, it suits outdoor use, so it can hang over a table on a covered terrace, under a pergola or in a porch just as happily as over a dining table or in a living room. A pair or a row works well along a long dining table, and a single one gives a cosy, low light above a sideboard or a favourite chair. At 265lm it is a mood light rather than a working light, so pair it with other lighting where you need to see fine detail. It is TRIAC dimmable, which means with a compatible dimmer you can bring it right down for a quiet evening outside.

The pendant is built from stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic fibre, and its warm brown weave sits as comfortably against garden planting as it does against a plaster wall or timber beams. It runs on the 230V mains as a Class I fitting and is wired in by a qualified electrician. Before you order, measure from the ceiling to the table top: with a drop of 46cm to 200cm, it can hang low and close over a dining table or sit higher under a tall ceiling.
