Description

The Nans S/16 is a woven outdoor pendant light: a small cylinder of synthetic fibre in Brown (with Beige and Light Grey), hung from a Graphite Brown structure. The shade is 16.5cm tall and 16.7cm across, and the fitting measures 200cm in height overall, with a canopy 12cm across and 4cm high. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 8W and gives 285 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps faces, food and fabrics looking true to colour.

Rated IP54, it is made for outdoor use, so it can hang from a pergola, under a covered terrace, in a porch or over a patio table, and it is just as happy indoors above a dining table or in a living room. At this size it looks right on its own over a small table, or hung with others in a cluster at different heights along a beam. It is TRIAC dimmable and works with a compatible dimmer, so you can keep the light low and warm through a long summer evening outside, then bring it up when it is time to lay the table.

The structure is stainless steel and aluminium, finished in Graphite Brown, and the shade is woven from synthetic fibre, which gives the pendant the look of basketwork. Its Brown weave, with Beige and Light Grey, forms an open diamond pattern, so the shade looks warm and textured by day as well as when it is lit. It runs on 230V mains and is a Class I fitting. It is wired in to the mains rather than plugged in, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, which makes it a good one to add to the list when outdoor lighting is being put in.
